This'll get 'em going:devil:

So whats so bad about Paganism? I think we Pagans have had a bad press, we've had our sacred places plundered , our traditions copied and ridiculed, whose to say whats bad about it, no one knocks the Green party, but you could say Pagans are more in tune with the environment

As for atheism well who knows ...really,c'mon...why believe that the Wibble was the word of ..whatever, and how come we dont see Angels any more?

That is what I mean. This oil spill is huge and is going to do damage to the life in the ocean. It is very upsetting indeed.

What have industrial environmental disasters have to do with Paganism, paganism is very much in tune with protection of and being in harmony with the environment

What do pagans believe in then?

What do pagans believe in then?

Welllllllllllllllllll, what I was trying to say, in my usual cack handed way, is that if someone believes in all this Satan and God stuff they have to respect other people may not hold those beliefs, you may just as well hug a tree and believe in the spirits of the woods as far as I'm concerned , in fact I can see more sense in ancient people worshipping the seasons and what they felt were the unknown forces that "controlled" the seasons, when your average life expectancy is about 25 you hope [and prey] your crops grow and, because your ggrip on life is so weak, you invest faith in a diety, in their case Demeter, and because they associated fertility with motherhood the diety is a woman.
I dont know what Pagans believe in [ why dont you ask me what I believe in , you may find that even thoughI'm a "heathen" it's not much different to you - by the way Ive never denied the existence of Jesus ] - apart from - like many indigenous peoples have - the way they protected and "worshipped" their living environment. Then Monotheism came along and being a very dictatorial type of thing absorbed some traditions and customs and monopolised belief.
Now scuse me while I dance naked round the Gorsedd stones

Monotheism is a confusing concept, and man-made. It inevitably falls short of the mark, as far as religious truth is concerned. In the bible it clearly says God is one, but when talking about himself, he refers to himself as a plural being (Elohim), as in the early chapters of Genesis.

everything is - you cant pick and chose to suit your own philosophy, be consistent

Whatever their belief it cant be any more invalid than yours

you cant pick and chose to suit your own philosophy

Philosophy should be based on experience in the widest sense. I don't have one philosophy, but many. And they do fit together

Philosophy, by nature, is not fact. Its a possible way of explaining things

no , not directly, but there again you rarely say anything directly. You made some comment a few days back about Dylan and pagan symbols which inferred a kind of distaste on your part, and there was that comment about "true colours" which you wriggled out of - you ought to try being a bit more honest and show your true colours in all their raging glory, go on you know you want to :)

Do you mean reveal the identity of the Beast of Revelation..?...that's what my true colours involve. That colour's scarlet...not my shade at all.

Isis
05-09-2010, 12:44 PM
you mean the beast the the book of revelation is talking about? I suppose there is no beast OF revelation? A beast could not revieve revelations because revelations comes directly from God and a beast is so ungodly that it would be impossible for such pure information to penetrate all that evil darkness and be understood by a beast I think? or maybe the beast would be able to recieve it, shake it all up and spit it out in a distorted version, in order to confuse the people in the world about the truth.

Well I can tell you who the Beast is. I doubt if you'd like it.

It's true I'd never wear a pink shirt or tie...

Isis

uhh I have my own ideas of who the beast is and personally I don't think it is anything anybody needs to know, because it is the CONCEPT of the fact that there just might be a beast out there "Satan is roaming the earth like a roaring lion" who wants to destroy.
As a matter of fact I do not like the fact that they compare the beast with a lion. Lions are wonderful animals and they have nothing to do with a beast in my book?
A beast to me is all the evil on earth combined: greed, jealosy, thievery and so on. I think the bible talks about the beast more in symbols.

Kent Allard
05-09-2010, 06:58 PM
Of course. Understanding the symbology is very important. The Beast has to be related to other scriptures; and he certainly is. The prophet Daniel discusses the "unsealing of the scriptures" in the end times, ie, that the true meaning of the scriptures/symbols would become clear.

Well riddle me ree! what utter nonsense and drivel, your not into plain speaking are you?
Would you want me state my position on this? at least it's direct

"you made some comment a few days back about Dylan and pagan symbols which inferred a kind of distaste on your part, and there was that comment about "true colours" which you wriggled out of -"

and, once more you wriggle, what are our true colours ..simple question answer it simply...please

But since landly would like you to develop a little further to what your comprehension is to what exactly is this beast or who is he, do you think that you could continue and lay out your opinion a little more on how you percive it? I really find it very interesting also. I do have an idea but it is not easy to pin a thing like this down? Your writings are highly valued in my book.

To these kind of questions there are no simple answers. I think most people realize that so it takes quite a bit of gut to get into it and catch the devil by his tail so to speak.

Oh do you have to be a Bobfan? I like Mick Jagger and the Rollin' Stones and I thought it was easier to get to Mick jagger if I just can get to Bob first. I was just gonna USE Bob for a while..........I am sure he doesn't mind.........cuz he's a Rollin' Stonefan himself. And fair enough it's out in the open now..it's not like I'm hidin' anything?
