Don't let the b*****ds grind you down

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6l1vIOI5IOM

Don't believe what you hear
Don't believe what you see
If you just close your eyes
You can feel the enemy
When I first met you girl
You had fire in your soul
What happened your face
Of melting in snow
Now it looks like this

And you can swallow
Or you can spit
You can throw it up
Or choke on it
And you can dream
So dream out loud
You know that your time is coming 'round
So don't let the bastards grind you down

No, nothing makes sense
Nothing seems to fit
I know you'd hit out
If you only knew who to hit
And I'd join the movement
If there was one I could believe in
Yeah I'd break bread and wine
If there was a church I could receive in
'cause I need it now

To take a cup
To fill it up
To drink it slow
I can't let you go
I must be an acrobat
To talk like this
And act like that
And you can dream
So dream out loud
And don't let the bastards grind you down

Oh, it hurts baby
(What are we going to do now it's all been said)
(No new ideas in the house and every book has been read)

And I must be an acrobat
To talk like this
And act like that
And you can dream
So dream out loud
And you can find
Your own way out
You can build
And I can will
And you can call
I can't wait until
You can stash
And you can seize
In dreams begin
Responsibilities
And I can love
And I can love
And I know that the tide is turning 'round
So don't let the bastards grind you down

Some songs can talk directly to you or your heart (if you have any) lol
This song tells me that there is no other option really. You have to keep on refusing becoming predictable and cold and closed into a little box
limited in space and spirit...only facing reality... you have to refuse to give up......

The only option for me ( and for a lot of other dreamers )personally is to dream:

I dream of a better word where people can accept eachother. Not neccecarily love eachother and send Valentines card but at least respect and tolerate oneanother
Of course I dream of a world with a lot more love in it also...but right now that looks so far away that I can imagine baby steps needed just for some tolerance and acceptance would do.

I dream of a world where we all will do our part to save Mother earth from total destruction. I hear some ideas here and there and it gives me hope about a livable world for next generation and future...but the future looks grim.

All one can do is follow ones own conscience and seek to to do good to others.

But just close your eyes, you can feel the enemy

anybody know that song where Bob is singing about how hard it is to try to stay pure? (in a defiled world)

You try to stay pure and they accuse you of robbery...or something that direction?

west over Jordan...forgot the name of the song

But just close your eyes, you can feel the enemy

and the enemy is subtle too...you can never be sure what the enemy is up to or behind what smiling face he or she is hiding? You only know it when you get knifed...then you say aha,,,how come I didn't stay more alert?

Get well soon, ole timer.

BONO has had emergency spinal surgery after suffering an injury while training for tour dates.

The 50-year-old U2 singer was treated at a specialist neurosurgery clinic in Munich and is expected to stay there for a number of days.

He will then return to his home in Ireland to recuperate further, a U2 spokesman said.

The band's next tour date in the US on June 3 has been postponed, while their Glastonbury appearance may be in doubt.

A statement on the band's website said further information about the possible impact on other tour dates would be announced in due course.

U2 are due to perform gigs across America, returning to Europe in August.

They were due to begin rehearsals on Tuesday for the opening date in Salt Lake City and are scheduled to headline Glastonbury on June 25.

Band manager Paul McGuinness said: "We will make plans to reinstate the dates as soon as possible."
