Do they really have to "mean" something?, Freud thought most dreams were sexual,, other people think it's the brains way of ordering the random things that happen or are seen, it's a helluva leap to think that their " a message, from another world" as Dylan sings in a Series of Dreams...dreams can also of course be an ambition or desire - hence "follow your dream" but then Dylan also sang that "in order to dream you have to be sleeping" implying that one is unawake to what 's occuring:devil:

I believe, when we are sleeping and dreaming, we leave behind our 4 dimensional world and re-experience our natural multi-dimensional existence. But then, I am a pantheist and I think dreams are when we stop pretending we are such limited creatures for a little while... it's kind of like "time off" for a lunch break from reality.

I also think "dreaming" is when we communicate with each other, and even confer with the dead and those who are yet to be born.

I assume this is not the answer you were looking for?

What can I say?? :) phew! for some time now ive been very aware of my dreams in fact I can, occasionely , "direct" them - like I'm in MGM, I seem to dream all night - obviously I 'm not, in fact I can slip into dreams at nearly any time, I think this must be a side effect of my drugs, it's sometimes quite draining...but I go with the filing cabinet theory myself

When you are directing your dreams, that's called "lucid dreaming." Many people struggle to train themselves to do it. Some succeed.

I have been able to be aware that I am dreaming... like "know" I am napping on the couch or in bed, and continue dreaming anyway... but I have yet to really "direct" a dream like MGM.

I am very aware or lucid, I can even stop the ones I dont like just by saying "this is just a dream" honestly

I also like some Jungian interpretations. I think we can be learning much from some dreams and this is great idea for conversation!
Have any of you other posters having romance dreams and then come to realizing that in the waking time you may have been having rough time and persons you are dreaming of may have strengths where you do not so in dreams see or want to see these aspects of self or others in self?
Am I making any sense of this at all?
