I just dont get this (read below). Dylan is perfectly capable of giving his lyrics to Sony...why are executives having to transcribe them by themselves? It's ridiculous.

We also have the failure to provide lyrics to Dylan's previous album, Tell-Tale Signs. All this is incredibly bizarre.

NEW YORK, May 17 Reuters -- A workplace dispute is escalating at the New York headquarters of Sony BMG over the transcription of the lyrics from Bob Dylan's new album Together Through Life.

Two middle-ranking executives have quit, and another three are refusing to transcribe the lyrics, and may face dismissal this week, according to a source within Sony, requesting anonymity.

Meanwhile, fans are becoming increasingly distraught at the failure by Sony to post the lyrics a full three weeks after the album, Dylan's 33rd studio effort, was released.

"This is the most hated job in the organisation,'' said the source.

"Every time a Dylan album comes out, we draw straws as to who gets the awful job of having to transcribe the lyrics,'' she said.

"It's not that we don't like the music - most of us are ardent Dylan fans - it's just that out there in 'Bobland' there are bitter disputes over varying versions of the lyrics.''

One executive who became embroiled in a dispute over the lyrics to "Aint Talking" off Dylan's last album Modern Times later required psychological counselling.

"Someone at Sony leaked his identity to some of the most fervent fans, and the poor guy was tormented for weeks,'' the source said.

The task this time is considered by those involved to be even more frightening because of a major dispute among fans and critics over the song I Feel A Change Coming On.

In one line, some argue Dylan sings "I've got the blood of the land in my voice'' while others claim he warbles "I've got the blood of the lamb in my voice''.

Of course the changed two consonants make a world of difference, said the source.
